Responsible for preparing smoked meats, seasonings and sauces per our smokehouse operation guidelines; ensure the superior quality and freshness of all smokehouse products. Understand health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
High School Graduate (Preferred)
or Equivalent (GED) preferred.
Prior experience in restaurant or retail industry.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Responsible to have a complete understanding of the smoking process; ensure superior quality and freshness of all smokehouse meat products. Ensure meats are properly processed, prepared and know cooking times for all items to ensure correct doneness.
Responsible to make seasonings and sauces used in the smoking process.
Organize items for preparation in order to ensure meats are processed accurately and efficiently in order to minimize waste.
Responsible for understanding the health, safety and sanitation regulations related to the smokehouse.
Maintain and clean equipment (i.e., blenders, utensils, etc.) and work area.
Handle spoiled/damaged products per established guidelines.
Notify management if products and supplies need to be ordered.
Have familiarity with all products carried in the department; know the differences in price, taste, preparation, use, etc.
May be required to operate cash register within the deli department; itemize customer purchases, receive and process payment in a timely and efficient manner while displaying courteous customer service.
May be required to assist in other deli department duties during slow times within assigned area.
Maintain a clean and organized work area; ensuring compliance with Company safety and sanitation procedures and standards.
Communicate the Company programs (i.e., loyalty program, scans, etc.), in-store specials and coupons to customers, and models high standards of service to achieve a customer oriented store.

The employee will be exposed to refrigerated/freezer coolers on a frequent basis. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
